Located: File > Info > Properties > Advanced Properties > Summary > Comments - Never use hidden text as an accessibility workaround that deploys the same color font as the background color. This will create a color contrast error in some accessibility checkers.
Important Info
Below are some examples of items that need to be documented; however, this is not an exhaustive list.
Embedded audio and video files
Microsoft’s media player currently does not support transcripts and audio description files; however, for accessibility they need to be included. Make sure a comment is placed in the Properties/Comments box explaining where the needed files can be found.
Typically, the IRC (Instructor Resource Center) is a good place to store them. Please check with individual disciplines to see where they prefer to house the files.
Notes Pane
Utilizing the Notes Pane for additional slide content, notes, or student resources is acceptable. However, screen reader users need to notified that the Notes Pane is being utilized because by default a screen reader will not enter the Notes Pane of each slide.
Tables with images or objects
When appropriate, images or MathType objects may be placed within table cells. See Tables with objects or equations for a step-by-step approach on how to create this type of accessible table. Make sure this workaround is documented in the Properties/Comments box.
