Requirements
- All non-decorative images require alternative text. See Alternative Text for more information.
- Decorative images must be marked as decorative.
- Avoid images of text.
- Do not include any art that is not from the textbook, including clip art.
- Use original art files whenever possible.
- Background slide images are not allowed.
Important Info
- If original art files are unavailable, screen-captured images may be used if the clarity is not degraded when zoomed in at 200%; this includes any text on images.
- Grouped or layered art images are NOT acceptable. Instead, a static composite should be created and inserted with the applicable alt text.
- GIF files should be avoided because they may cause accessibility barriers. See Animation, for more information on GIF files.
Tips
Insert an image using the ribbon: Insert > Images > Picture.
This will ensure screen readers announce the image as a picture.
